Ghosts of Prairies Past is a series of 13 photographs that came to life while visiting Alberta in early 2020. Each image is an exploration of memories growing up on the prairies and how a sense of place becomes deeply rooted within all of us as we age. The unpredictability of double exposures allowed me to convey how easily the past can become intertwined with the present if we experience a situation/place that stimulates a certain memory/feeling. I chose to photograph this series out the window of a moving car, to further express how our emotions are energy in motion.
