Where are you located? Will you travel?

I live in Vancouver, British Columbia, and yes! Exploring new places is one of the best parts of being a photographer. Let me know where you are interested in going and we will make it happen. I live in an artist studio, with floor to ceiling white walls, big windows and tons of natural light. If you want something simple, like headshots against a white wall, let's do it. Want to document that hike you told yourself you'd cross off the bucket list five years ago? Some "behind the scene" shots of a short film? Sign me up! I love exploring all avenues of photography, especially if it challenges my skills.

Do you shoot with lighting/flash?

Depends. Outdoors, I prefer natural/ambient lighting when it comes to documentary photography; it makes the moment feel authentic. I may use reflective objects to bounce light if I feel it's necessary. If we are shooting in my studio, I have huge windows that let in the natural light beautifully, as well as reflectors, speedlites and LED photo lights on hand if necessary.

Can I share my images online & print them myself? Can you print them for me?

You bet. All I ask is that you give me a photo credit or tag me on social media! Feel free to print as many images as you please. Yes I can certainly have them printed for you. I actually recommend this, as not all print shops create equal prints. You may find the color is dull or greenish, the contrast is too high, the crop is off. I know first hand how frustrating this can be. I spend hours editing my photos to look a certain way, and want them to come out printed exactly as is to reflect the quality of my work. Prints are on high quality, fade resistant, museum grade photo paper. It will cost a bit more then say, going to Walmart or Costco, but will also look 100x better and last 100x longer. If you would like to know more, send me an email with the sizes you are interested in and I can send you the price guide / turn around time.

How long will it take to get my images back? How many will I get?

For portraits, each session includes a specific number of images. I will have an online proof gallery ready within 24 hours, and as soon as you've picked your favourites for editing, I'll have them back to you within two weeks. If you've requested a special session (say a party or wedding), it will be a bit longer. It depends on how many hours I end up shooting, and the total number of images I capture (more images = more sorting + editing). Weddings for example, can be anywhere from 1500-4000 images shot in camera (roughly 400 - 1500 edited images in the end). I can give you a rough estimate on a turn around time the day after the shoot, but do promise to get your images back to you no later than 8 - 10 weeks after our session.

Will you photoshop me? Can I have all of the unedited images?

Have a few pimples you hate? Teeth aren't as white as you'd like? Portrait + Studio sessions come with a specific number of edited images, so I take the time to fix those little details. For larger events that produce hundreds or thousands of images, I will not be able to accomodate skin retouching for every single image, but will make sure the really special close-up moments are. Sorry, I don't give out unedited images. They don't represent my final work as a photographer.

How do I book you? Forms of payment?

Send me an email! Let's start by telling me a bit about yourself and what you're looking for. Once we've established the details, I will email you an electronic contract to fill out and sign to finalize your reservation. I require a 50% deposit ( via e-transfer ), and the other 50% will be due upfront on the day of the shoot (e-transfer or cash). If you prefer to chat in person, please feel free to give me a call or stop by my studio! If you get sick or have to cancel your booking last minute because something comes up, I will gladly reschedule your session for the next available date (your deposit will also be transferred forward to the new date).

What if it rains or snows?

Portrait Sessions: I love shooting in all types of weather, but understand many people don't enjoy being wet or cold during a photoshoot. If its torrential, lets reschedule. If it's light, I'm up for working with it. It's your call! Events/Weddings: Let’s work with it! We can always shoot indoors, or try and find covered areas outside. We can also use umbrellas and embrace the romance of rain (or snow!)
